Shaun Keough’s practice focuses on assisting individuals and businesses with intellectual property asset protection and enforcement, including protecting copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Shaun also assists clients with business transactions, entity formation, and compliance with data privacy laws, in addition to business litigation and appellate advocacy.
Shaun attended Northeastern University School of Law, where he focused on business and intellectual property law, taking such classes as intellectual property transactional practice, corporations, employment law, modern real estate development, and land use. In addition, as a participant in the Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court competition, Shaun co-authored a brief that ranked eighth nationally. Shaun was also active in the Intellectual Property Society and the American Constitutional Society.
Shaun developed his legal skills working in the Economic Crimes Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts; WGBH’s Business and Legal Affairs Department; the employment, intellectual property, strategic alliance, and corporate practice groups at Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton, P.C., a business and intellectual property law firm in Waltham, MA; and in the chambers of the Honorable Gary Katzmann of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, where Shaun helped to draft bench memoranda and § 1:28 opinions for criminal and civil appeals.
Prior to law school, Shaun worked as an electrician and superintendent where he managed projects and supervised staff.
In his spare time, Shaun enjoys true crime, staying abreast of the latest developments at the intersection of law and technology, spending time with family, and watching sporting events, especially Tampa Bay Lightning and Red Sox games. Shaun also plays ice hockey and is an avid runner.
